The Brig o' Turk Tearoom

Celebrating 100 Years

Welcome to the Brig o’ Turk Tearoom, a quaint 1920’s wooden tearoom who celebrated its centenary in 2023. Whilst iconic in its own right, the tearoom also claims fame for being used as a set in the 1950’s remake of the film The 39 Steps.

Situated in the heart of the Trossachs, we are dedicated to providing tasty and wholesome vegetarian food, with a selection of vegan and gluten free options available. As keen outdoor enthusiasts our vision for the tearoom is to make it a place we would want to go to, after a decent day on the hills. Thus, the tearoom is dog and muddy boot friendly, although soggy bottoms are not allowed on the good chairs! The menu boasts a range of hearty homemade options, as well as a good selection of cakes and enormous scones that will help you refuel.

Whether you are in the area walking, cycling or sight seeing, come and join us at the tearoom to enjoy some refreshments. We respect the ‘tea’ element of tearoom, thus offer a great range of tea from Jenier World of Tea, as well as some great coffee. However, don’t take our word for it, pop in and judge our homebaking and drinks for yourselves!

We Are Close To

We are close to Lochs, Walks and Activities.

The Brig O’Turk is situated in the heart of The Trossachs. Whilst it is only around five miles away from Aberfoyle and Callander (on either end of the road!), the surrounding hills and lochs provides a sense of remote Scottish countryside that really entices you to the village.

We Create Delicious Memories

This has recently had an "upgrade" and looks fresh and modern inside with some outside seating as well. It was really busy when we called in, but the staff are friendly and hard-working. There are some nice walks in the vicinity and it's well worth stopping here if you have some time to spend.

Lovingly restored classic Scottish Tea Room. Kay's baking is phenomenal and so inclusive, she always makes plant based treats and items with non-gluten containing ingredients, but be quick because the delicious cakes sometimes fly out of the door.

I’ve had the pleasure of having many meals at the Brig O’Turk Tea Room, since the mid 1990’s. A good friend of mine used to have family living in that simply stunning part of Scotland, and I was fortunate enough to spend some time over there.
